how it works

01.

We start with some homework - worksheets designed to get at the heart of what you do, why you do it, and who you do it for. You’ll also create a Pinterest board of curated, visual inspiration for your new website. On or right before your project start date we meet live, online, and discuss strategy, vision, and aesthetics so that we’re on the same page going into your project.

02.

Then I get to work on the first draft of your home page. We go back and forth a few times, with you providing feedback, and me making the appropriate design tweaks, balancing strategy with visuals so that your home page is just right. With that page as our inspiration, we move onto the rest of your website, and another round of revisions for the remaining pages and blog.

03.

Once we’re happy with them all, we move onto the final stage, where I make sure everything is functional, linked, and optimized for mobile viewing. We have a final handover meeting, where I show you the basics of your new site, including how to continue maintaining it on your own. Then when you’re ready, we launch!

01.

Contact me and let’s talk about your project needs to make sure we’ll be a good fit. If we are, you’ll reserve your time on my schedule by submitting a non-refundable retainer.

02.

I’ll send you a bit of homework that’s due prior to your scheduled start date. The homework will bring clarity to your project and help me better understand your needs, so we’re on the same page.

03.

On your start date, I get to work on the hard (fun!) design stuff, making the process as easy as possible. Your main role at this point is to trust me, though you’ll still have plenty of input in what we create.

I offer a complimentary 30 minute consultation call to any serious prospective custom design clients. If you aren’t sure where to start, or want to see how well we’d work together, please reach out to schedule one with me.

HOW FAR OUT ARE YOU BOOKED?

I generally book custom website projects 2-3 months out, with a minimum of one month lead up time to give you the necessary time to complete the homework. Please contact me to find out my current availability.

DO YOU OFFER PAYMENT PLANS?

Yes! A smart business owner knows the importance of investing in their business, but they also know the importance of maintaining a budget. Please reach out and we can come up with a payment plan to suit your specific needs, however the full design fee is due prior to your project start date.

DO YOU OFFER A LA CART SERVICES?

Depending on my schedule, yes. Please contact me with your project details and I can provide a rough time-based quote using my ala cart rate of $125 per hour.

DO YOU DO WORDPRESS/PROPHOTO WEBSITES?

At this time I am no longer accepting custom ProPhoto websites. But I’d love the chance to talk to you about why I think Squarespace is the ideal platform for photographers!
