How To Get Started with Squarespace

Okay, so you've made the decision to build your website with (or transfer one over to) Squarespace. Now what?

It's incredibly easy. You simply sign up for a Squarespace account, choose a base template, and start editing. They give you a two-week free trial to play with the platform before you have to commit to the subscription, which is seriously awesome. And then once you have your site ready to go, you can purchase a domain directly through them, sign up for the subscription that meets your needs, and go live! It couldn't be easier, and I particularly love that everything I need is handled through them. No need for security-problematic (and sometimes expensive!) plugins to achieve full functionality. No need for a separate domain host: just one company to work with if something goes wrong, which saves time and sanity.

If you are wanting to switch over to Squarespace from your current platform, it can get a tad bit complicated, but still really quite easy. Again, you just sign up for a Squarespace account, choose a base template, and start editing. You'll still have a two-week free trial to help you decide. When you are ready to go live you can choose to either transfer your existing domain over (so it's hosted via Squarespace) or you can choose to leave it hosted where it is and just have it point to your new Squarespace site rather than your old one.

As with all efforts to elevate your business, you must consider how much time you are willing to spend on DIYing your website. Though Squarespace has made it a breeze to publish your online home, do remember a website consists of several moving parts that work best when they are oiled consistently. If you feel your valuable, limited time is best served nurturing your client relationships, feel free to chat with us. My team and I love buildings websites and freeing up your time so you can do what you do the best.
